Clarence Townsend

Mr. Clarence (Ervin Little) Townsend passed away April 18, 2011 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Age 70 Years. He was born October 27, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to Willie B. White.
Clarence came to Saginaw, MI from Greenville, MS in 1971. He was employed at Malleable Iron Plant, Local 455 until his retirement in 1999. He was well known for his singing voice and traveled around the south with Little Milton. He sang in many local venues in both Greenville, MS and Saginaw, MI.
Clarences memories will be cherished by his loving wife Carrie (Cooks) Townsend; his daughter, Ebony Nicole Davis; grandchildren, DaAsia McCall, Kevin & Jeremy Sharp, Memphis, TN; Xavier & Xavionna Stover, Shreveport, LA, Cariese & Tevin Cooks, Southfield, MI, Tenisha Cooks, Kansas City, MO, Nathaniel Cooks Jr., Saginaw, MI, Derrick Kirby, Saginaw, MI, Derrick Hernick, Saginaw,MI, Marcus Houston, Dallas,TX; sisters, Alice (Darryl) Shelton, St. Louis, MO, Willethel Stelivan, Seattle, WA; brothers, Alonzo White, Richmond, VA, Arthur White, Ruleville, MS; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention, including former band members who he will be sadly missed by, Milton, Mark, Carl, Marlene, Rob and Jim Jr.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie B. White; daughter, Donna Faye Sharp and two nephews.
