Clarence Watts, Jr. (Lansing)

Mr. Clarence Watts Jr. passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, Michigan. Age 71 years. He was born June 10, 1951, in Lansing, Michigan to his parents, Clarence Watts, Sr. and Mattie Tate.


Clarence moved to Los Angeles, California but he decided to leave California and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada over 20 years ago. He returned to Lansing due to his mother’s illness in July of 2021 and he then decided to stay in Lansing where he became ill. Clarence attended West Junior High School and graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing, Michigan. Clarence was loved by everyone and was known for his voice. He entered talent shows and everyone wanted to hear him sing the song, “Double O Soul”. He could also dance, and he danced on the show Swing Lively with his sister Pat which was shown on Saturdays. He loved all his nieces and nephews, and they loved him because he was known to call them all Bopa's.


He leaves to cherish his memory sisters, Patricia Horton and Nancy Nelson of Lansing, Michigan, and Shelia Jenkins of Beaverton, Oregon; brother Karl (Barbara) Parker of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and special friend, Jerry Hickmott.


He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Watts, Sr.; mother, Mattie Parker; stepfather, Henry Parker; brother, Henry Parker Ill; sister, Kisha Parker Jones; brother-in-law John Horton; niece, LaToyia Burgos; and special aunt, (his mom’s twin sister) Mazie Tate.
