Claude L. Macon

April 2, 1944 — June 4, 2024

Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Claude L. Macon, transitioned on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the age of 80 year, surrounded by his family and lots of love. He was born April 2, 1944, in Malvern, Arkansas, to Claude Macon Jr. and Marie Evans.

“Claude L,” as he was affectionately known, attended Saginaw High School. After high school, he started his career with General Motors at the Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry in Saginaw, Michigan. He retired from Nexteer. Claude L. believed in the power of prayer and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1999. Claude, a jazz enthusiast, loved all things jazz. Anyone who knew him was always in for an impromptu jazz session. Claude would pull out crates full of classic jazz albums and his one-of-a-kind Kalimba flute, and homemade musical instruments made from bottle caps and spoons. He enjoyed collecting family photos and telling jokes, but what he loved most was spending time with family and friends. He was well-loved by all who knew him, and he will truly be missed.

Claude L. leaves to cherish loving memories his daughters, Deidra Greer of Corsicana, Texas, and Jeanae Crawford of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, Tai Parker of Saginaw, Michigan; sisters, Saundra Sangster, Southfield, Michigan, and Octavia Macon of Detroit, Michigan; brothers, Gregory (Monica) Macon, Texarkana, Arkansas, and Stephan Macon, Detroit, Michigan; twelve grandchildren, Daresha Holmes, Daquinn Macon, Dakeythia Moore, Devon Macon, Daeshawn Rivers, Austin Cesare, Landon Cesare, Damon Greer Jr., Dominic Greer, Daysha Greer, Dayna Greer, and Dimitri Greer; seven great-grandchildren, Londynn Macon, Bella Macon, Amani Gaynes, Athena Macon, Audrey Macon, Ariyah Macon, and Cartier Thomas; many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and special family friend, Charlie (Jackie) Riley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Macon Jr. and Marie Green; stepfather, Albert Green; son, Damon Greer; sisters, Janice Perkins and Gwendolyn Macon; nephew, Omar Perkins; and brother-in-law, Ish Sangster Jr.

The family gives special gratitude and appreciation to hospice nurse, Holly Wood, with Three Oaks Hospice.
