Claude Toler (Holt)

Mr. Claude Thomas Toler transitioned to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at his residence in Holt, Michigan. Age 83 years. He was born October 24, 1935 to Cecil Earl and Bertha Mae Toler in Adams, Tennessee.

Claude attended school until the 8th grade; at age 15 years old, he had to quit school to go to work with his father in the logging business. He worked as a timber cutter for several timber and logging businesses throughout his career. Claude loved everyone and everyone loved Claude. He unconditionally, in every way put his wife, Dorothy, daughter, Vicki, four sons, Claude, Tim, Mark and Stephen first before himself. He spent endless time with them. Claude loved listening to Blue Grass music and watching the Detroit Tigers. One of his favorite things to do was to put puzzles together.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Toler; daughter, Vicki Lynn Kyser; 3 sons, Claude Edward (Charlotte) Toler, Timothy Thomas (Shirley) Toler and Stephen Andrew Toler; 10 grandchildren, Christina (Jon) Forist, Michael (Jennifer) Kyser, Amy (Evan) Hurst, Barbara (Jeffery) Walker, Kayleigh Stephenson, Travis Stephenson, Katie (Travis) Stephenson, Misty Sits, Christy Hunter and Melissa Toler; 11 great-grandchildren, Owen Forist, Dylan Forist, Kaiden Forist, Paisley Kyser, Liana Hurst, Aliza Hurst, Evan Hurst, Brandon Harrison, Mercedes Garza, Shanel Garza, and Serena Toler; 5 sisters, Rose Cantlin, Omma (Terry) Elenbaum, Mary Kanyuk, Kathy Blain and Barbara (Scott) Strane; 2 brothers, Henry Toler and Joe Toler; 3 sisters-in-laws, Elynore Toler, Karen Toler and Sheila Toler; 12 nieces, Lynsey, Jodi, Shirley, June, Brenda, Pam, Kristina, Darla, Karen, Jackie, Nikki and Melissa; 9 nephews, Dan, Rodney, Mark, Bill, Brian, Gregory, Chad, David and Ryan; many other relatives including adopted son and daughter, Dave and Lori Rambo and friends including special friends, Carol and Lynn White, Gene and Beverly Smith, Scott Rich, Sandy Rich, Barbara Taylor, Ed Fuller, David and Debbie Saglimbene.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bertha Toler; son, Mark Anthony Toler; brothers, William and David Toler; son-in-law, Bruce Kyser and close friend, Willis Taylor.
