Clemente Paul Pena was born on May 12, 1973, in Saginaw, Michigan and passed away at age of 48.
He was the beloved son of Rachel Pena Hugare.
Paul loved art since he was a little boy, as he got older, he expressed himself through his paintings. When he was a young boy, he enjoyed playing baseball, kickball, climbing trees, bowling and watching The Comedy Classic – The Three Stooges with his cousins. Paul was born and raised in Saginaw but when he was 11 years old, he moved to Chicago with his mother and went back and forth from Saginaw to Chicago until he was 17 years old. He loved listening to “House Music” and making tamales.
Our grandma’s house was always full of love and family. Everyone knows that Paul was grandma’s favorite and she was his too. Paul loved, cherished and adored his grandmother very much. Each year he would send his mom cards for Mother’s Day, Christmas and her Birthday, he never missed a year. Paul was a wonderful son, brother and uncle.
Many of you may not have known the mature intelligent man that Paul became but Paul’s greatest achievement of 2021, despite having cancer, graduated with honors 4.0 GPA at Mott Community College – Associates Degree. One of Paul’s teachers at Mott said, “He was universally acclaimed by instructors and was a huge positive force amongst his peers.”
Paul was known for being a genuine person, his beautiful smile, charming ways, intelligence, loyalty, courage, strong will, love and compassion for people. Paul had great faith in God all the way until his last breath. Paul was loved and respected very much and survived by his stepfather and mother, Tom and Rachel Hugare; sister, Mia Pena; brothers, Jesse Betancourt, Juan Olivarez, Tom Jr. and Daniel Hugare; many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins including Jeana Favela and Sophia Pena who were raised as sisters; favorite cousins Augie and Marcella, best friend/brother Manuel Rivera and many friends, teachers, doctors, and nurses. Anyone that came in touch with Paul just grew to love and care for him because of the beautiful person that he was. He will be deeply missed by everyone.
Paul was preceded in death by grandparents, Antonio and Mary Pena; uncles, Antonio and John Pena, Jerry Delgado, Robert Menzel; aunt, Catherine Teneyuque and cousins Eva Ortega, Arturo and Johnny Pena.
