Mrs. Cleo Jones was born June 14, 1941 in Greenville, Mississippi, the daughter of George and Alma Sims. God called her home to be with Him on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the age of 79 years.
Cleo graduated from Coleman High School in Greenville, Mississippi. She moved to Saginaw, Michigan, where she met Willie F. Jones. They joined in holy matrimony and two children, Melody and Derek, were born to this union.
Cleo was a faithful member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. She confessed Christ at Bethel in 1980. She was a member of the decorating committee and the senior choir. She was self-employed as a designer of unique floral arrangements, sea shell mirrors and home décor. She used her gifts inside and outside the church.
The definition of class, Cleo was always fashionably dressed. She was loving, humble and open-minded. Her presence will truly be missed.
Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alma Sims; sister, Alma Woods; brothers, Clyde, Jimmy and Menort Sims.
She leaves a lifetime of memories with her loving husband, Willie F. Jones; children, Melody and Derek Jones; stepdaughter, LaKeisha Pelt; grandson, Jaquez S. Franklin; sisters, Joyce Sims, Clarice Davis, Doris Ann Urbain, Delores Henry, Helen Fife, Daaiyah Muhammed, Norma Jean Chatman, Annette Sims; brothers, Bobby Earl, Edward (Bobbie) and William Sims; many nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends.
