Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 14, 2009. Age 77. Clifton was born in Akron, Alabama to the late Clifton Ryan, Sr. and Virginia Rollins. He retired from General Motors after 32 years. He was the owner of Ryans Trucking until his health failed him.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Mary Ryan, his four children: Shirley Ann McKinnie, Yvonne Ryan, Branda Ryan-Mason and his baby girl Tiffany D. Ryan; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; two siblings: Ada B. Allen, Lois Williams, both of Birmingham, AL; mother-in-law Rosa Lee Frierson of Bishopville, SC; sisters-in-law Rosa Mae Wilson, Gloria Scott of Bishopville, SC; a very special sister-in-law Angie Ryans of Saginaw, MI, Rebecca (Arnold) Hearns of Boston, MA, Mildred (Fred) Weeks of Detroit, MI, Ruby (Alan) Nevels of Cleveland, OH; four brothers-in-law: Leroy Frierson of Bishopville, Julious Frierson, Sumpter, SC, Herbert and John Frierson of Columbia, SC. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a very special godson whom he treated like a son Thelbert Jones. Dear friends, Ella McKinnie and Naudena Johnson. Clifton was predeceased by one Clifton Ryan III, three brothers: Morris Ryan, Sr., William Ryan and O.D. Ryan; one sister Claudette Hubbard and god-daughter Jackie Stephens.
