Clyde Sims

April 9, 1936 — March 3, 2019

On April 9, 1936 in Greenville, Mississippi, George and Alma Sims were blessed with their oldest son, whom they named Clyde. As a young man Clyde moved to Saginaw, Michigan and met and married the love of his life, Betty Gean Thompson. To this union three sons were born, Randy, Ryan and Roger.

Everyone who knew Clyde knew he loved cars and would give the best advice as to how to care for them. He was a member of South 17th Street Church of Christ and a retiree of General Motors after more than thirty years of service. He was a man who cherished his wife and loved his sons and family.

Clyde transitioned from this life Sunday, March 3, 2019 in Saginaw, Michigan after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his parents; son Ryan Sims; brothers, Menort and Jimmy Sims; sisters, Alma Woods and Marie Sims.

Those who will cherish his memory and mourn his loss are his beloved “Sweetie”, Betty Gean Sims, whom he was married to for fifty-six years; sons, Randy (Debbie) Sims, Sr., Cocoa, Florida and Roger Sims, Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Edward (Bobbie) Sims, Bobby Earl Sims, William Sims; sisters, Norman Jean Chapman, Cleo (Pete) Jones, Helen Fife, Delores Henry, Joyce Sims, Clarice Davis, Doris Ann Sims, Annette Sims, Daaiyah Muhammed; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marjell Moore and Helen Arthur.
