Collette Elizabeth Weathers

Mrs. Collette Elizabeth (Hammond) Weathers, 70, passed away at her home on Friday, December 22, 2023. Collette was born January 9, 1953, in Saginaw, Michigan, the 4th child of Burnetta and Willie Hammond.

Collette graduated from Buena Vista High School with the Class of '71. After graduation, she worked for Saginaw Steering Gear, Plant 3. During this time Collette met her 1st husband and from their union, there were three children, Cameron, Fatima, and Edwin. Collette was a member of Christ Kingdom Ministries and served on the Usher Board for many years. She was truly adored and loved by many in the church community. Later in life, Collette took a position at Saginaw Powder Coating and married Isaiah Weathers who remained by her side for 27 years.

Collette was beautiful, crazy funny, and very spiritual with an infectious laugh. She was an unorthodox mom, an awesome sister, the coolest aunt, and the hippest grandma. Collette was unapologetically herself. She enjoyed spending time with her family and shopping, shopping, and more shopping. Oh, and of course Collette loved her mean dog, Princess.

Collette will be truly missed by her husband, Isiah Weathers; children, Cameron Sanders, Saginaw, Michigan, Fatima Sanders, Detroit, Michigan, and Edwin Sanders, Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Marcel Soto of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Anani Elizabeth Trinidad Sanders, Oklahoma, and Blaise Copeland, Detroit, Michigan; sister, Josette (Roosevelt) Hill, Tulsa, Oklahoma; brothers and sisters-in-law, Isaac (Sheery) Weathers, Jerome (Dawn) Weathers, Larry (Patricia) Frierson, all of Saginaw, Michigan, and Catherine Clayton, Lansing, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephew, other family and friends.

Collette was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Burnetta Hammond; sister, Annette Hammond, and brother, Richard Hammond.
