Cora Mae Cox passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. She brought joy into the lives of her parents, the late Mary and James (Jim) Davis on March 20, 1950 in Greenville Mississippi. She was the seventh of nine children.
Cora Mae was educated in the St. Louis Public Schools system and attended Job Corps where she developed an interest in modeling. Her gift for the Arts was exhibited in her singing in her brother?s band as well. Her favorite song was ?A Change Has Come Over Me?. Cora Mae confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was ordained as a minister in 2009. She loved spending her free time studying the word of God, attending church, cooking and talking on the telephone daily with her sisters, Clara and JoAnn.
Cora Mae was preceded by her husband Joseph Cox and siblings, Barbara Underwood, Clara Williams, JC, Johnnie and Freddie Davis.
Cora Mae loved her children, family and friends. She will truly be missed by them all.
She leaves to cherish her memories five children, Sandra Petty of St. Louis, Missouri, Deborah Allen of Waldorf, Maryland, Michelle Davis, Robert (Jeffery) and Heramanda (Jasmine) Cox all of Saginaw, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Antwuan, Ashley, Tiffany, Michael, AireAuna, Akela, Shavon and Kimberly; nine great-grandchildren, Oriana, Aniyah, Gabriell, Andre Jr., Lavelle, Courtney Jr., Aiden, Abigail and Khary; Four siblings, James Jr., JoAnn, Willie and LeRoy. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
