Corey Edwards (Lansing)

On August 17, 2023 surrounded by his fiancé and cousins, Corey peacefully ended his battle with leukemia and began his everlasting life in Heaven.

Corey was born in Charlotte, Michigan to Guy Edwards and Laura Young. He grew up alongside his younger brothers Joshua, Jeremy, Tyler, and Justin. He spent most of his life in Michigan but also lived in Virginia, Arizona, New Orleans and Texas. Although Corey faced many hardships throughout his life, he never lost faith in God. Corey was filled with love and light and he tried to pass that on to everyone he encountered. His greatest accomplishments in life were his two sons whom he loved dearly and carried so much pride in his heart for. He spent the last ten years of life alongside the love of his life, Carolyn, and together they created the simple and beautiful life they always longed for.

Corey leaves behind his parents, Guy Edwards (Dawn) and Laura Young; his fiancé Carolyn Myers; his sons, Jeffery Placide (Taylor) and Austin Edwards (Zeynoire Anderson); grandson, Drieden Placide; and his brothers, Joshua Edwards, Jeremy Edwards (Jessica), Tyler Edwards and Justin France (Jessica). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be especially missed by his four babies Kingaroo, Wookie and Kobe. Corey’s kind and loving spirit will be forever missed, and our world will never be the same.
