Courtney Patrice Carter

Courtney Patrice Carter, age 35, passed away at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan on Thursday, July 20, 2023. She was born on November 24, 1987, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to parents Vince Taylor and Tiphany McGowan. Courtney was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, where she graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 2005. Later, she attended Dorsey College and obtained her Medical Billing Certificate.

In her earlier years, she had a passion for writing poetry and modeling, but has always loved reading books. Courtney enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, creating unforgettable memories. Overall she loved movie and game nights with her children. They were her everything. Courtney will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Courtney leaves to cherish her memories three children, Charles Maurice Watson, Jr., Jayla Symone Carter, and Jeremiah Elijah Carter, as well as her stepson, Demarion Grays; her parents, Vince Taylor and Tiphany McGowan, both of Saginaw, Michigan; grandmother, Adrienne Minnes, Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Chanell Trudell, Midland, Michigan, Byonka (Tony) Moten, Saginaw, Michigan, and Erica Taylor, Charlotte, North Carolina; four nieces, Eriana Hill, Charlotte, North Carolina, Marlee Moten, Saginaw, Michigan, Jalaya Essex and Juliana Essex Midland, Michigan; three nephews, Joshua Kyre Hill, Jr., Charlotte, North Carolina, Nemond Kelly, and Julian Essex, Midland, Michigan; five aunts; six uncles; many cousins, two sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law; many other relatives including her best friend, Monica Frazier; special aunt and uncle, Alvis and Roy Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ca’Nyia Watson, paternal grandparents, Edmond and Earline Taylor, and maternal grandfather, Pastor Steve Nelson.
