Craig Burns

Craig Allen Burns passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at St. Mary's of Michigan Medical Center. Age 44 years. He was born September 15,1967 in Saginaw, Michigan to Leonard Burns Sr. and Betty Smith.
Like his father, he was an anointed man of God with a powerful prison ministry. He was a member of Greater Metropolitan Cathedral COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Roderick P. Anderson Sr.
Craig loved life, his wife, his children, his family, his Harley and his favorite pet dog, Chuba. He received his bachelor's degree in business management from Washtenaw Community College, Barber License from Flint Institute of Barbering and a Masters degree in Divinity from the American Bible Academy. He was a writer, author, songwriter, singer and one of the family jokesters. Craig enjoyed fishing, gardening (landscaping), cooking (barbequing), traveling and chess. He had an outgoing personality and was wise for his age. He was a sweet spiritual man of God. He especially had a strong bond with his sister, Andrea "Bae" Jones, they were called Ike and Spike by their father. When told they looked alike, Craig always said he looked better. As children they often thought of being like Donnie & Marie Osmond or BeBe and CeCe Winans. He will always be remembered! And we praise God for the opportunity to have known such a great man.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tania Burns; his children, Exandrea Burns, Saginaw, Michigan, Mariah and Matthew Burns both of Lansing, Michigan, Craig Perry, Flint, Michigan; step-children, Stephon Hardy, Saginaw, Michigan, Arneisha Banks of Battle Creek, Michigan; three grandchildren, Zariona and Honesty Thompson both of Saginaw, Michigan, Ayden Gagne, Lansing, Michigan; his mother, Betty ( Lloyd) Beemen, Ypsilanti, Michigan, step-mother, Diana Burns, Saginaw, Michigan; two sisters, Andrea (Anthony) Jones, Bridgeport, Michigan, Tiffany Hargrave, Dermontt, Arkansas; 4 brothers, Leonard Burns Jr., Deondrae Burns both of Saginaw, Michigan, Noah and Damen Beeman both of Dumas, Arkansas; many nieces, including three special nieces, Trikina, Destiny Burns both of Saginaw, Michigan, Aiyanna Burns of Kansas; many nephews, including two special, Anthony Burns, Christopher Jones both of Saginaw, Michigan; many aunts, uncles, cousins, including a special cousin, Leon Burns Jr., Saginaw, Michigan; father and mother-in-law, Deacon and Sister Vernon Sowell, Saginaw, Michigan; sister-in-law, Brenda Granison, Minneapolis, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Supt. Darrick Granison, Minneapolis, Minnesota; many other relatives and friends, including special friends, Mother Mary J. Bogart, Mother Willie Coats both of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Kathy VanBocxlaer, Saginaw, Michigan.
He ws preceded in death by his father, Leonard Burns Sr., grandparents, St. Joseph and Skiry Burns, Supt. Archie and Mary Alice Smith.
