Curtis D. Farrow "Curt"

September 26, 1961 — July 28, 2023

Mr. Curtis Duane Farrow “Curt” passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ 2023, at Covenant Medical Center Cooper, at the age of 61 years, and surrounded by his family. He was born September 26, 1961, in Saginaw, Michigan to Curtis and Vera Farrow, Sr.

Curtis was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. His early church background started at True Love Temple of Truth under the leadership of his family member, Dr. Frankie B. Minor, and ended at Greater Love Ministries under the leadership of Pastor James Snead and First Lady Charlene Snead. Curtis was a born-again Christian who confessed his life to Jesus Christ the true and living God, and believed that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Curt knew, and believed wholeheartedly in its entirety, that Heaven would be his home where he would live forever in Paradise.

After his early education, Curtis enlisted in the United States Army where he was a Weapons Specialist. He received an Honorable Discharge upon completion of his tour of duty. Curtis later worked various jobs at different stores around his community ending with his best job ever at the Crown Plaza Hotel in downtown Saginaw, Michigan, as a Chef working alongside the great Chef, Bruce Crudup.

Curtis eventually became disabled but still managed to help those that were in need, and he did it with a beautiful smile and a loving heart. His past hobbies were cooking, fishing, dancing, and listening to Gospel songs and the Blues. He made sure that his children would definitely follow suit. Curtis thought that he was a mean dancing machine (LOL). He also was the “Vaseline King” making sure nobody was ever ashy. Curt will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Curtis leaves behind a legacy; the final beats to his heart, four daughters, Joyce Collier (future son-in-law, Jerrell Green) Curtrice Farrow, Chunicqua Farrow, and MyAngel Farrow, all of Saginaw, Michigan; two sons, Curtis Deshawn Farrow, Curtis Duane (Crystal) Jones, both of Saginaw Michigan; three stepdaughters, Tara Ricklefs, Louisville, Kentucky, Tiesha Jones of Saginaw, Michigan, and Delana Jones, Lancaster, Texas; two stepsons, Jamar Jones (Amanda Harvey), and Anthony (S'emia) Collier, Saginaw, Michigan; six grandchildren, Curtis Ar’King Jones, Austin Texas, and in Saginaw, Michigan, Isaiah Burton, Jayce Green, Malik Moore, Melani Jones, and a very special and most amazing person to Curtis, his grandson, Elijah Hoskins, whom he valued with his whole heart, and who gave him the name, Paw Paw, and the will to keep on pushing. Curt also leaves twenty step-grandchildren; two great-grands; many others whom he treated as his own are too numerous to name; he also leaves the mothers of his children, Alga Jones and Roxanne Collier.

He also leaves behind his two remaining siblings in Saginaw, Michigan, Shirley (Jerry) Prince and Annie Farrow, the “apple of his eye;” four sisters-in-law, Rena Witherspoon, Njeri Olufunmilayo, and Kayette Jones, all of Dallas, Texas; Betty “Tootsie” Bland, Saginaw, Michigan; four brothers-in-law, Keith Jones, Vernell Phipps and Dave Whittington, Saginaw, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; many cousins and friends including his dear cousin, Linda Dozier, who always showed up, and his praying cousin, Evangelist Eleanore; Curtis also leaves special friends, Helen Wright and Vern Donald.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Vera Farrow, Sr.; grandparents, Susie Johnson and Ted Parker; two sisters, Patricia Works, and Carmen Whittington; one brother, James Bland, Sr.; uncle, James Parker; two nephews, Napoleon Works, and James Key; one niece, Tracy Farrow; and his mother-in-law, Katie Phipps.

The Family would like to express special thanks to Covenant Cooper ICU 7th floor; Select Specialty Covenant Harrison 8th floor; nephew, Jerry Prince; Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff at Paradise Chapel.
