Curtis Michael Taylor

Mr. Curtis M. Taylor passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 65 years. He was born August 17, 1952 in Jacksonville, Florida to Curtis W. Taylor Sr. and Minnie R. Forshee.

Curtis graduated from New Stanton Senior High School in Jacksonville, Florida, “Class of 1970.” He retired after completing 17.4 years of faithful and honorable service to the Saginaw Public Schools District. He is also a retiree of Saginaw Valley State University. Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved listening to rap music, playing spades and dominoes. He was a very comical guy who loved to joke around. Curtis was also a good cook. Oh boy! He could smoke a turkey and barbeque some ribs. Many people will cherish fond memories of Curtis, from throwing a good party with good music, good food and good fun, to his humor, to him having the cleanest cars, and his sharp style of dress.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 43 years, Brenda Taylor; two daughters, Ayana Talley, Atlanta, Georgia, Valerie Collins, Saginaw, Michigan; one brother, Curtis W. Jr. (Bridgett) Taylor, Jacksonville, Florida; four sisters, Brenda J. Barnes, Carol L. (Lawrence) Starling, Paula M. Coppage, Phyllis LittleJohn, Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren, Korey Helms, Jacksonville, Florida, Bria Collins and Deonte Collins, Saginaw, Michigan, Terer Menzies, Paul Menzies and Toni Bedgood, Pensacola, Florida; eight great-grandchildren; his best friend, Lorenzo Durham; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends;. Curtis also leaves to cherish his memory his dog, Basil Taylor and grand dog Bentley (Benny Boy) Talley.

Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie R. Forshee; father, Curtis W. Taylor Sr.; two daughters, Kanatha Taylor-Presley, Jacksonville, Florida, Tameka Talley Pensacola, Florida; and grandson Corey Talley Pensacola, Florida.
