Ms. Daisy Lee Pate went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Sparrow Health Systems Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 82 years. She was born May 28, 1940, the daughter of Moses Manuel and Daisy Lee Manuel in Birmingham, Alabama.
Daisy and her family later migrated to Morgan City, Mississippi. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Leon Pate, Sr. and they were blessed with 6 children. Daisy later moved to Lansing, Michigan with her children. She was employed with several employers in Lansing, including Diamond REO, Motor Wheel, cooked for the Juvenile Detention Center, and Home Health Aide for the State of Michigan to name a few. Daisy was an active bowler, loved playing cards, and loved music, especially by R. Kelly and Rance Allen. Daisy loved family get-togethers where she enjoyed trying to dance and enjoying life.
She leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Barbara Jean, Nora Jean, and Loretta Pate; 2 sisters, Deloris James and Mildred Nettles; 2 brothers, Jasper Manuel and James Manuel of Long Beach, California; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including the father of her children, Leon Pate, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Lee Pate; sons, Leon Pate, Jr. and John Henry Pate, Sr; grandson, Delon Pate; parents, Moses and Daisy Manuel; sisters, Lucille Williams, Ruthie Flowers, Mary Sledge, and Ora D. Calhoun; brothers, Ervin Hall and Tom Manuel.
