Dalaney Lewis (Lansing)

Ms. Dalaney Lewis passed away Monday, June 22, 2020 at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 61 years. She was born on Friday, April 3, 1959 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of John Jr. and Gloria Lewis.

Dalaney spent much of her life in Lansing, Michigan and was a 1977 graduate of Lansing Everett High School. She also resided in Fremont, Ohio and Oahu, Hawaii for brief periods of time. Dalaney was a retiree of Kroger Company as a Customer Services Representative. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Dalaney and her sister, Desiree were members of many singing groups, such as Lightness in Blackness, Caution, Quite Storm, 4 Divine and Just Divine and the Lansing Community Choir. In her teenage years she and her brother, Derrick did modeling for Adams Modeling Agency. Dalaney loved playing cards, Yahtzee and our family games of marble and quarters. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

She leaves to cherish and love her memory 2 sons, Pierre D. (Tracie) Summers and Payton D. (Janette) Travis; 2 sisters, Lorna (Lee) McKinstry of Fremont, Ohio and Desiree Lewis of Lansing, Michigan; 3 brothers, John Lewis, III of Fremont, Ohio, Derrick (Shannon) Lewis and Dante Lewis both of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Pierre Summers, III, Traceya Summers, Payton Travis, Jr., Nova Travis, Olivia Ruiz and Aria Robinson; aunt, Moreen K. Jacobs; uncle, Dale Jacobs, 8 nieces, 5 nephews, many cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Adova Bridges, Sherry Cherry, Lindy Rogers and Debra Warr.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her 2 dogs, Lincoln and Lexus, whom she adored.
