Mr. Damond Lamont Anderson was born July 20, 1975 in Saginaw, Michigan and adopted by James and Marva Anderson. He transitioned from this life on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the age of 45 years.
Damond accepted Christ at a young age at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Harold Gates. He was baptized and served as an usher and in the choir. He attended Saginaw High School and later obtained his GED.
Damond loved to cook and proclaimed himself to be a Master Chef. He loved spending quality time with his three daughters, nieces and nephews. He had a special relationship and gave family nicknames to three of his nieces, Sharonda, Shalonda, Lashawnta, and his nephew Demont. He was extremely close with his sister Veronica, whom he called “Sister-Mother”.
Damond was full of life and love. He enjoyed playing basketball and making people laugh. His presence brought joy and he will surely be missed.
Damond was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marva Anderson, Chester Beachum; grandparents, Mary Louise Beachum and David Anderson.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Trechelle Anderson, Saginaw, Michigan, Alexandria Anderson, Ahyana Anderson, both of Holland, Michigan; granddaughter and his Cupcake, Justyce Southward; mother, Ramona Jamison, Chicago, Illinois; grandparents, Delores Williams, Park Forest, Illinois, Willie May Anderson, Alabama, Robbie Overstreet, Saginaw, Michigan; sisters, Veronica Anderson-Askew, Louisville, Kentucky, Ebonie Jamison, Chicago, Illinois, Whitney Beachum, Toledo, Ohio, Chenntel Henry, San Diego, California, Mary Ann and Rose Ann Anderson, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan; brothers, Andre Johnson, Houston, Texas, Javier Burnola, Gerald Anderson, both of Saginaw, Michigan; nieces, Lashawnta, Sharonda, Shalonda, Lashawnte, Fatima, Johnesha, Roneisha; nephews, Demont, Demarkus Jr., Dequavion, Ray-Ray, Demetrius; twelve aunts; fourteen uncles; seventy first cousins and special cousins, Pam, Demetrius “Hobo”, Arthur, Delores, Tiara, Dionta, Kenny and Aaron; godmother, Lovett Swilley; godbrother and godsister, Kareem Swilley and Tosha Swilley Sykes; many other loved ones and friends including special friends William McDaniel, Terry Dedrick, Shervan Keels, Demetrius Stokes, Dontae Swilley, Christian Hogg, Cecil Jackson and Marilyn Favorite.
The family would like to express special thanks to Marilyn Favorite Harris and Family, who was like a mother to Damond, Delores Beachum, Pastor Chet and First Lady Atkins.
