Damontae Fluellen

August 8, 1990 — July 22, 2019

Mr. Damontae Fluellen, the son of Rosetta Biggins and Antonio Sims, was born August 8, 1990 in Saginaw, Michigan. He walked into the loving arms of his Savior on Monday, July 22, 2019. Age 28 years.

Damontae, known as “Sweet Pea”, attended Buena Vista High School. He was a member of New Covenant Christian Center under the leadership of Dr. Ron Frierson.

Damontae loved making people laugh. He told jokes every day and all day. He never met a stranger, as he was a people person and enjoyed socializing. He was great with kids and used to watch all his friends’ children. They loved Montae and he had a special name for all of them.

Damontae loved playing basketball and he was very competitive. He loved playing at the Buena Vista Community Center and in tournaments at Vets Park. To many of his friends he offered loving protection, a great time, jokes and positive energy. To Cashia, he was a superhero who exhibited wisdom and strength.

Damontae had many homes away from home around Buena Vista. Mrs. Ford treated him as her own son and Tweety, who has gone home to be with the Lord, also loved him dearly. He loved all his friends and family but he had a special relationship with his brother Drevonn. The two of them were always together, joking with each other or playing ball together. Our Sweet Pea was a fighter and he will be forever cherished.

Damontae was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louvenia Lewis, Antonio Sims II, James and Ora Sims; godfather, Marvin Brown; and a special mother, Linda Hutson.

He leaves to celebrate his life three children, Samiyah Gray, Kamryn Evans and Da’Marrion Fluellen; parents, Rosetta Louise Biggins, Antonio (Chariclea) Sims; brother, Drevonn Fluellen; sisters, Mi’Cahsia Biggins, Michea Biggins; other siblings, Whitney (James) Slappy, Shane Pratt, Antineah Sims, Jacques Price; aunts, Vicki Hill, Arlene Crenshaw, Sylvia Nance, Tonya Sims; uncles, Sylvester Hill, Tyrone, Walter and Curtis Crenshaw, Noble Fluellen, Brian Jackson; cousins, Schronda “Punkin” Hill, Marcus (Marah) Hill, Douglas Crenshaw, Tori Crenshaw; godmother, Doris Brown; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, James, Lee, Allen, Ty, Allan, Darvonte, Pooman, Tori, Dedrick, Stephen, Kerisha, Harry, Alonzo, Anthony, Ceazar, Big Will, Mary, Ester and D.A.
