Daniel Dupree Gilliam (Lansing)

Mr. Daniel Dupree Gilliam passed away on Friday, January 19, 2019 in Maricopa County, Arizona, at the age of 30. He was born March 24, 1988 in Lansing, Michigan to parents, Julia Daniel and Waymond Gilliam.

Daniel completed his education in Lansing, Michigan. He was a very smart and articulate person. Daniel loved to make people laugh. He loved to travel and experience new things. His big smile and laugh could fill up any room. Looking to make himself a better man and a better life with more opportunities, Daniel relocated to Phoenix, Arizona in 2015. There he truly began to embrace life. His passion was truly being the great father he was to his children. Daniel’s other passion was for music and went by the stage name “Tunk, tha Fatman.” He also enjoyed cooking and everyone loved his signature dish stuffed wings which he named “DaQrayzies” and also his jerk sauce.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, three daughters, Alexandria “Cubby”, Jai’Lynn “Bubbles”, Marticella; two sons, Kavell “Gus-Gus” and Daniel, Jr. “Rollie”; mother, Julia Daniel; grandmother, Juanita Daniel; grandfather, John Cooper, Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters, LaSheila Daniel, Brandi Gilliam and Tyrany Gilliam; three brothers, James Travis, David Gilliam and Adrian Brown; three nieces, BreAsia Fletcher, A’Mya Gilliam and Ty’Asia Gilliam; two nephews, Willie Fletcher and Julian Daniel; three aunts, Lisa McGuire, Grand Rapids, Cynthia Daniel and Debbie Black; uncle, Alfred McGuire; many cousins, some who were more like brothers and sisters, Lamickell (Kelly) McGuire, Damian Gilliam, London McGuire, Jemmerio Bradley, Sidney Johnson, Tommanay and Tomonie Moore; many other relatives and friends including special friends Raphael Downes, Quasim Verser, Jeremiah Hidalgo, Monica Adams, Courtney Johnson and CoCo, God brothers Michael Larkins, Deonte Jackson and Montrel Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Waymond Gilliam; grandmother, Doris Cooper; great-grandparents, Harding and Eddie McGuire, Albert and Rhetta Gilliam, aunt, LaGina McGuire, Johnnie Camper, cousin, Jalyn Daniel, godsisters, Tyree and Latoya Tate.
