Darien Smith

Darien D. Smith was born October 13, 1998 in Saginaw, Michigan to Latisha L. Smith and Robert Long. He was reunited with his mother on Friday, December 20, 2019.

Darien was a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 2016.” He was introduced to God at an early age and continued that relationship as he grew older. He was a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church from childhood to adulthood, under the leadership of Pastor James Hodge.

Darien was such a cool guy. He was laid back but so much fun to be around. He loved music, playing video games and driving his van. His sense of humor was unmatched, and he enjoyed laughing and having fun with his family and friends. Sweet, caring, loving and funny are just a few words to describe him. His heart was pure and he will truly be missed.

Darien was preceded in death by his mother, Latisha L. Smith; grandfathers, James Coleman and Charlie Donald; great-grandfathers, Joe C. Smith and Pack Coleman; great-grandmothers, Rubie Smith and Mary Hughes; great-aunt, Pauline Jones.

He leaves precious memories with his father, Robert Long; grandmothers, Linda Smith and Leeann Long; sisters, Mikki Bullock, Nia Long; brothers, Robert Long, Jr., Devontae Bullock, Otis and Omarion Buchanan; aunts, Sandy Nash, Donetha Palmer; uncles, Jerry Smith, Charles Long, Jr.; special cousins, Antwan Rodgers, Nicholas Smith, Jerry Smith III, Jason Tarver, Ciara Cannon, Daysha Reese, My’Angel Smith; many other relatives and friends, including special friends DonQuavis Lindsay, Jaquantae Omar, Otis Buchanan and Lamont Davis.
