Darlene Diane Leaphart

Ms. Darlene Leaphart passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Age 54 years. Darlene was born August 23, 1967, in Detroit, Michigan, to Dorothy Leaphart and Perry Rolland Cooley.

Darlene became a resident of Saginaw, Michigan in the early 90’s. She was baptized at Bethlehem Temple in Detroit, Michigan, at an early age. Darlene had a heart of gold, and would give her last to anyone in need. She was a volunteer worker at Sis. Marita Home and because of her diligence and hard work, was later given a home. Darlene loved old movies such as Godzilla, and King Kong. She loved dancing, and listening to music. Her favorite artist was Prince (When Doves Cry). Darlene loved her grandchildren and family. She will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish loving memories three sons, DeShawn (Brandi) Sharpe, Melvin Leaphart, and Isaac Ford Jr; one sister, Dorothy Fisher; one brother, Kirk Leaphart; eighteen grandchildren; special aunt, Ethel Perry; and special nephew, Jason Moore Jr.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Leaphart and Perry Rolland Cooley; granddaughter, Paris Sharpe; two sisters, Joann McAfee, and Patricia Applegate; two brothers, Michael and Carlos Leaphart.

The family would like to would like to thank Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, LaShawn Jones, Carolyn Moore, Stephanie Steward, and Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff Paradise Funeral Chapel.
