David Larcell Riley ascended to glory on August 26, 2024, at the age of 52 years in Selma, AL. He was born in Chicago IL to Abraham Hill and the late Shirley Riley. David was the youngest of six children.

David attended Carrollton Public Schools, graduating in 1988 before moving to Selma, AL. He attended the Southern Christian Worship Center, accepted Christ, and was baptized.

He enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, and football. On weekends, he always barbequed and cooked enough food to feed the entire block. His joy was watching the University of Michigan, Alabama, and Florida football with his Dad.

David had a contagious smile and a loving spirit. He was a known jokester, and everyone loved his sense of humor. Wherever he went, he never met a stranger. David loved daily talks with his brother, Lorenzo. David was a family man who adored his family more than anything.

He leaves to cherish and honor his memory, two daughters, Justice and Jade Riley, of Norman, OK; father Abraham Hill, of Selma, AL; two grandchildren, Alessa and Isah Riley of Norman OK; two brothers, Lorenzo and Hubert Riley of Saginaw, MI; five sisters, Glenda Oliver of Killeen, TX, Doretha Riley of Saginaw, MI, Vallerie Porter (Payton) of Georgetown, TX, Temika Harrison (Benjamin) of Selma, AL, and Yolanda Hill of Chicago, IL; four nephews, Diondrae Riley of Battle Creek, MI, Ronald Oliver III (Emily) of Daytona Beach, FL, Lekedrich Rogers and Terry Harris Jr. of Selma, AL; four nieces, Valencia Porter of Dallas, TX, Veronica Porter of Austin, TX, Nathalia Effinger and Breona Harrison of Selma, AL; stepmother, Renona Edwards of Selma, AL, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Riley, and grandparents, Georgia Hill, Dave Cardwell, Myrtle, and Oliver Roby.

His family and friends loved him and he will be truly missed.
