Davida Lee

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 14, 2018.

Mrs. Davida M. (Dembry) Lee, age 73, was born January 17, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to the late William Dembry and Alice Stanley.

Mrs. Lee married the love of her life, L.H. Lee on May 15, 1976. Prior to moving to Saginaw, she resided in Chicago, Illinois for years where she was a member of Unity Fellowship Baptist Church and later united with Rock of Ages Baptist Church. Upon moving to Saginaw, she united with the Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful and dedicated member for twelve years.

She was a licensed cosmetologist for over fifty years. In Chicago, she was employed by the Oak Park Police Department – Parking Enforcement Unit. She was also employed by the Foster Grandparent Program for eight years. For the last three years she was “Grandma Lee” at Kempton Elementary School. Her most proud accomplishment was being an entrepreneur. She was owner of D-Tour Fashions and a true fashionista. Davida loved shopping, creating unique floral arrangements and drawing.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Darnella Flournoy; sister, Willie Moody; three brothers, Edward, William and Arnold Dembry.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of forty-two years, L.H. Lee; daughter, Davida Dembry, Colorado Springs, Colorado; son, Anthony Dembry, Colorado Springs, Colorado; granddaughter, Tiarra Smith (Fiancé, Xander Holmes); goddaughter, Gloria Spires; eight sisters-in-law, Lois Dembry, Chicago, Illinois, Evelyn Dembry, Dallas, Texas, Ora Mae Loveless, Alberta Austin, Vivian (M.C.) Tarkington, Gladys Humes, Tena (Willie) Bond of Saginaw, Michigan, Pinkie Sanders, Chicago, Illinois; brother-in-law, Davis Lee, Saginaw, Michigan; special friends, Preston and Linda Johnson, Mildred Valley, Birler Southern, Norma Jenkins and Bobby Merritt, Foster Grandparents and Kempton Elementary School Family; a host of other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Covenant Health Systems and nieces, Linda Caldwell and Karen Cork.
