Deanna Rhodes

August 17, 1952 — November 18, 2023

Deanna Rhodes, age 71 of Saginaw, Michigan passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on November 18, 2023, at Covenant Healthcare Hospital. She resided in Saginaw, Michigan where she touched many with her lively spirit and unwavering love. Deanna was born on August 17, 1952, to Robbie Overstreet and the late Douglas McKay.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce Deanna’s passing. She was a woman with a spirit of adventure. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her.

Deanna is known for her infectious laughter and vivacious personality. She had an uncanny ability to bring joy and light to any room. She had a zest for life and a love of adventure. Her presence alone was enough to make any gathering feel like a celebration. One of the best memories of her is her love for cooking. She knew she could throw down in the kitchen. Her home was like an open door. She never hesitated to help when she was able to. This why we take comfort in knowing that she lived life to the fullest.

The memory of Deanna lives on in the hearts of her family and friends; her mother, Robbie Overstreet; her children James Bettis and Demetrius (Lacretia) Glover; eight grandchildren, Demetria Allen, Demetrius Simmons, Douglas Simmons, Delvon Simmons, Destiny Watkins, Damija Glover, D’Naeja Glover, DaJiya Glover; three brothers, Leon Welch, Malcolm McKay; and Nicholas Overstreet; one sister, Nicole (Terrell) Nelson; close friend, Leon Johnson; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Deanna was preceded into eternity by her husband, Douglas Rhodes; father, Douglas McKay; three brothers, Douglas McKay, Thomas McKay, Lawrence Welch, and two sisters, Ernestine Ruffin, and Marva Anderson.

There will be a memorial service with close family and friends only. Date, time, and location will be provided later.

With Our Deepest Gratitude!
