Deborah Brown

August 16, 1955 — November 24, 2019

We humbly submit to the infinite wisdom of our Father God in calling His daughter, Deborah Lynn Brown, home to her permanent resting place. Mrs. Deborah Brown, affectionately called “DeeDee”, answered that call to rest from this life to God’s arms on November 24, 2019. She was sixty-four years.

DeeDee was born August 16, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Eugene and Amida (Siler) Smith and Joe Baker. She accepted the lord Jesus Christ at a very early age. DeeDee graduated from Saginaw High School in 1974 and later attended Delta College. She retired from the VA Medical Center where she worked over twenty years as a Service Representative.

DeeDee vigorously supported the Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous (NA/AA) programs, where she diligently counseled, mentored, encouraged and educated many people after deciding to live a clean and sober life; a birthday gift she gave to herself many years ago. Our dear sister shared her personal testimony both privately and publicly during speaking engagements to help others overcome life's challenges. Her passion and commitment to community led her to several volunteer opportunities, leadership roles and numerous awards.

DeeDee was a faithful and loyal missionary at Greater Love Ministry Church, Saginaw Michigan, where she taught Sunday School and served as secretary for Young Women’s Christian Council (YWCC). Her greatest joy outside of serving the Lord was traveling and camping. She would spend weeks at the campground. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

DeeDee was preceded in death by her loving parents, Eugene and Amida Smith, Joe Baker; brothers, Robert Lee “Bo” Baker, Saundrell “Sam” Baker; sister, Lottie Baker; two nephews she adored, Anquine Price and Gregory Cross II.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband of nineteen years, Albert Brown; three children whom she loved dearly, LaTanya Siler (Jermaine McCullloh), Barry Siler Jr., Briston Brown; twelve grandchildren, Tierra, Shakayla, Brianna, Charlitho Siler, Nia Ware, Brycen Carter, Adrian Siler, Kylen and Kamea McKinnon, Quori Siler, Xavier Demery, DeMajor Bodiford; three great-grandchildren, Taylen Siler, Travis and Tiyah Shaw; brothers, Charles Siler, Roy (Cassandra) Siler, Eugene Jr. (Regina) Smith; sisters, Glenda Cross, Lettie Baker; special cousin, Jimmy Alexander; brothers-in-law, Joseph (Jackie) Brown, Richard and Milton Brown; sister-in-law, Vivian Brown.

The family would like to thank the Greater Love Ministries, New Covenant Christian Center, New Faith Temple, and Spirit Filled Lighthouse church families for the prayers, love, and support you have shown during this difficult time. Words cannot express how much of a blessing you have been.
