Mrs. Deborah Louise Works-Campbell passed away suddenly on Friday, October 3, 2014 at her home, with her family at her side. Deborah was born October 12, 1955 to Jimmie Lee and Mattie Lou Allen-Works. She was raised in Saginaw, Michigan and she attended Saginaw Public Schools. Deborah was employed as a chef in her early years, until becoming disabled. She gave her life to God at an early age, and was a member of Temple of Faith Apostolic Church. Deborah was a devoted wife and mother to her children. She loved her children, grandchildren and her siblings. She enjoyed cooking and watching movies.
Mrs. Campbell leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Jake Campbell Jr.; one son, Jake (Laquinda) Campbell III of Saginaw, Michigan; three daughters, Dorothy Moore-Cruther of Cincinnati, Ohio, Santana Moore of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Harmony Campbell of Saginaw, Michigan; eleven grandchildren, Wendell Thompson, Eries Works, Tanashia Ferguson, Starsterria Moore, Zavorian Hubert, Armond Gardner, Jake Campbell IV, Kamya Harris, Kanaizja Harris, Jermaine Harris and Jaden Nickelberry; great grandchildren, Armontae Gardner and Amarianne Gardner; her mother, Pastor Mattie L. Works of Saginaw, Michigan; three brothers, Clinton Works, Terry Works, Charles (Targie) Welch-Works of Saginaw, Michigan; four sisters, Kathleen (Steadford) Samuels of Ajax, Ontario Canada, Valerie (Terry) Noble, Annie (Damus) Gardner, Natalie (Delbert) Harris of Saginaw, Michigan; mother-in-law, Willie Mae Campbell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Emma (Dennis) Morrison of Saginaw, Michigan; Earlean (John) Garrett of Arlington, Texas, Michael (Stacy) Campbell of Saginaw, Michigan, Woodrow (Denise) Campbell of Saginaw, Michigan, Anthony Campbell of El Paso, Texas, Linda Campbell and Reco Powell of Saginaw, Michigan, Georgia Simon of New Haven, Connecticut, Larry (Carrie) Campbell of Saginaw, Michigan; a favorite aunt, Elizabeth Works-Perkins of Saginaw, Michigan; a favorite cousin, Rozelia Kay Catholic; a favorite niece, Tierra October Noble who was also born on her birthday; many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Jimmie Lee works; brother, Jimmie Louis Works; sister-in-law, Patricia Works; father-in-law, Jake Campbell, and a best friend, Jacqualine Reynolds-Coles. The family wishes to express special thanks to the nurses on 5-South at St. Marys Medical Center.
