Beloved mother, sister, aunt, companion and friend, Debra Lynn Steward passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. Mary's of Michigan Medical Center. Age 55 years. Debra was born June 14, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan to Duane Harmon and Clementine Lawrence. She was employed at St. Mary's of Michigan Medical Center and Guardian Angel Respite and Adult Day Services. Debra was an avid bowler, crafter and seamstress.
Debra leaves to cherish her memory her lifetime companion, Louis F. DeWeaver Jr.; two daughters, Deidre and Courtney Steward; step-son, Louis III (Shawn) DeWeaver; three grandchildren, Leah and Karee, including a special grandson, Marcel; her sibling, Gwendolyn Collier, Don (Odessa) Steward, Gregory (Alma) Steward, James (Linda) Washington, Michele (Wayne) Amos; sister-in-law, Cathy Steward; nieces and nephews, Cheryl (Andrew) Tucker, Lynn, Tina, Lisa and Monte Collier, Stacie Steward, Christian (Charla) Steward, Cheyenne Powell, Monica, Gregory, Randy, January Steward, Adrian, Tyler and Adam Major, Deonte Dexter, Sharice Hooker, Latrina and Danielle Carter; ten great nieces and nephews; two great- great nieces and nephews, and many other realatives and friends, including special friends, Joyce Osborne, Caroline Ferrell, Arlis Hutter, Valerie King, Dana, Jamie and the entire Guardian Angel Respite family, SVRC Industries, S.A.I.D. and many others.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of St. Mary's of Michigan NICU, Cherie Sammis and Mission Integration, Dr. Malcolm Field, and special nurse, Renee Baur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Duane Harmon, Clementine Major; step-father, Horace Major Jr., brother, Charles Steward III, sister, Sandra Steward, uncle, John Longuemire, and nephew, Damien Steward.
