Deetta Mccallum

Mrs. DeEtta G. McCallum was born February 4, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of William and Bonnie Cook. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the age of 58 years.

DeEtta was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She worked in the hospitality industry as a bartender for many years. In this industry, she came across many people from all cultures and she was liked by them all. She was a natural mother of five but a mother figure to many.

DeEtta enjoyed life to the fullest. She was grateful for the time she was able to have with her husband Douglas, and after his passing, she learned to love again with her significant other Richard May. DeEtta enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a smile that would brighten any room and any mood. Her laughter was special and contagious. There will never be another DeEtta.

DeEtta was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas McCallum; parents, William and Bonnie Cook; brothers, William Cook, Pat and Terry Dickinson.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Nichole Fairchild, Cayla McCallum; three sons, Stephen Fairchild III, Michael (Halley) Fairchild, Matthew McCallum; eleven grandchildren, Rylee, Colton, James, Amy, William Jr., Krissalynn, Neva, Amberlee, Landon, Olivia, Linkston; sisters, Andrea (Carl) Warren, Brenda Cook, Jenny Jackson; brothers, Phillip Cook, Gary (Linda) Dickinson, Mike (Shelly) Dickinson, Jake Dickinson; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Reverance Hospice Team: Karen, Kenyatta and George for making our mother’s final days comfortable and peaceful.
