Delaura Tatum-Chandler (Lansing)

Mrs. DeLaura Tatum-Chandler passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Sparrow Health Systems in Lansing, Michigan. Age 37 years. She was born July 29, 1982 in Los Angeles, California. The daughter of Tommy Lee Tatum and Charisse Kirk.

Delaura moved to Lansing, Michigan and began attending New Jerusalem Church in her youth. As an adult, Delaura attended Church of God International Outreach Ministry. She graduated high school from Walter French Academy. Delaura attended Lansing Community College, and Tarrant Community College where she earned her associate degree in Psychology. She was employed at CSL Plasma Center and later as a home health aide. Delaura married her childhood friend, DeMarcus Chandler on July 23, 2011. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, country music, traveling, sports, jewelry, was an avid learner, family functions, putting on fashion shows, and spending time with her family. Delaura was so humorous, loved dressing up and was the life of the party. Delaura’s greatest pleasure was to always put a smile on someone’s face.

She leaves to cherish her memory husband, DeMarcus Chandler; children, Isis Elassad, Izais Chandler, Israel Chandler, Ivory Chandler, Iszira Chandler; stepchildren, Daijohn Chandler and Jabrelon Chandler; father, Tommy Tatum; sisters, Deanna Tatum, Kesha Kirk and Tamara Tatum all of Lansing, Michigan and Embra Kirk of Los Angeles, California; brothers, Don Juan Kirk and Creon Kirk both of Lansing, Michigan; uncle, Annaise Diles-Bey; Parents-in-law, Dexter (Terri) Chandler and Linda (Curtis) Long; sisters-in-law, Krystle (Daryl) Watts and DeLisa Chandler, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Bobbie Lane, Lillie Wade, Toccara Kelso-Stone and Amy Espo.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Charisse Kirk; mother, Margaret Smith; aunt, Imogene Jiles and uncle, Willie Jiles.
