Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and child of God, Della Mae Davis, was born February 19, 1945 in Montgomery, Alabama. The daughter of Richard Johnson and Emmaline Jackson reunited with her parents on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the age of 75 years.
Della finished school in Montgomery, Alabama and later moved to Detroit, Michigan and from there to Saginaw, Michigan. She retired from Healthsource in Saginaw after many years of faithful service. A member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, she served as an usher and in any capacity that was needed. Her sweet presence and beautiful smile was surely be missed.
Della was preceded in death by her husband, James Davis; parents, Richard Johnson and Emmaline Jackson; brother, Calvin Lee Jackson; three aunts; two uncles; other family members and loved ones.
She leaves precious memories with two children, Sylvester (Linda) Howard, Daphne Lashe Howard; grandchildren, Latesla Davis, Sylvester R. Davis, both of Pontiac, Michigan, DeJuan Maliek Black, Kyla Elaine Hardy, Jonathan James Pippins, Jr., all of Saginaw, Michigan; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Frances V. Moncrief, Josephine Jackson, both of Montgomery, Alabama; one brother, William Jackson Jr., Saginaw, Michigan; seven nieces including special niece, Kamela Moncrief; five nephews including special nephew, Calvin Lee Jackson, Jr.; one aunt, Callie Bell Bennett, Montgomery, Alabama; special cousin, William Allen “Bill”; many other dear loved ones and devoted friends.
Even though I am not physically here, always remember that God loves you and I did too.
