Delois Myles

August 17, 1933 — March 17, 2013

Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Aunt, Mrs. Delois Lois Myles went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at age 79 years. She was born August 17, 1933 in Monticello, Oklahoma to Elliot D. and Alma Lee Toatley.
Delois accepted Christ early in life and encouraged her children to grow stronger in Christ. Delois grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas and graduated from Langston High School in 1951. Delois relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 1964 and began working at Saginaw General Hospital as a Nurses Aide for 15 years. She met the love of her life Otha Jim Myles in 1966 and together they shared 44 years of marriage. In 1979 Delois was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear and became a member of UAW Local 699. She retired in 1989 after ten years of faithful service. Delois loved shopping and decorating her home. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. Gone but not forgotten, Delois will be sadly missed by her family who often referred to her as the life of the party.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Rhoda Myles, Memphis, Tennessee; two sons, Terrance (Kisha) Myles, Saginaw, Michigan, Trent (Carmen) Myles, Ypsilanti, Michigan; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Helen Garner, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Peggy Thompson, Saginaw, Michigan, Lilly Middleton, Hot Springs, Arkansas, Barbara (Walter) Davis; one brother, Elliot Jr. (Edna) Toatley, Hot Springs, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Delois was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Jim Myles, parents, Elliot and Alma Lee Toatley, three sisters, Zelva Pope, Mattie Gray, Clara Jackson, one grandchild, Terran Myles, one niece, Cheryl Davis, one nephew, Duane Walton.
The family would like to express special thanks to her caregivers, Mary Scott, Lisa McCall, Shelina Wilson and Mona, the staff of Home Health Partners, Laura, Robin, Tracey and many others who took excellent care of Delois.
