Ms. Delphine H. Lundy was given her wings for a job well done and went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Holt Senior Care in Holt, Michigan. Age 81 years. Delphine was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Taylor Stanton and Texanna Williams. Delphine had 7 siblings, 3 sisters and 4 brothers, Beverly, Diane, Audrey, Robert, Samuel, Ronald, and Karyle.
When Delphine was 2 years old her mom moved the family to Cleveland, Ohio where she was raised and later graduated from John Haye High School. She accepted Christ and was a member of the Original Church of God for many years. Delphine, at the age of 17 years old, married her first husband, Lloyd Robinson, and two children were born into this union, Delphine and Lloyd Robinson. Years later she met and married her second husband, Reginald Lundy. They moved to Lansing, Michigan, and from this union, they had 3 children, Daymon, Datrice, and Reginald Lundy. She worked part-time while taking night classes at Lansing Community College and graduated with her Associate's Degree. She went on to work at Sparrow Hospital as a unit coordinator (infant care unit) and was also a nurse’s aide when needed. Delphine retired from Sparrow when she was 65 years old in December 2005. Delphine loved to do arts and crafts, if asked to do some decorating, she would have to take a week or 2 to get it in her mind what she wanted to do, and then she would lay it out, but that's what she did. She loved her grandchildren and didn't want anyone messing with them (meaning their parents) she was always their defender. Delphine loved for them to come to spend a night with her so that she could spoil them and cook their favorite foods and give them all the junk food and whatever that they wanted. After the loss of her independence in 2019, she resided at Holt Senior Care Rehab where they loved and adored our mother. Delphine would laugh and joke with the nurses and the staff and they would laugh and say your mom is something else, she is so funny and says what’s on her mind. She had them bringing her in snacks and going to get her pop and even chicken wings, I remember her telling me that one of the aides went and got some chicken wings and only gave her 2, I said mom 2 was better than none and she laughed and said yea your right, but they took good care of our mom. She loved to watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and was addicted to QVC and HSN. Anytime that you went into her apartment, one of those channels would be on her television. She will be truly missed but not forgotten.
