Mr. Demarcus Montrell Peterson passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Covenant Health Care Harrison after a lengthy illness, age 40 years. Demarcus was born August 11, 1984, in Saginaw, Michigan to Felicia McDaniel and Edward Hulett. He was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan.
Demarcus attended Saginaw public schools. Many referred to him as “Block” and “Keyglock,” and his grandmother affectionately referred to him as “Polo.” Demarcus' favorite color was red.
Demarcus was a great son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He loved listening to music, dancing, and cracking jokes. Most of all, Demarcus loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his daughter, nieces, and nephews. He enjoyed hanging out with his buddies from the Xclusive Car Club, where he was a member.
Demarcus will be truly missed. We are thankful for the time we had with him.

Peterson, Belleview, Illinois; mother, Felicia McDaniel; grandparents, Delores and Jessie Drain, and Margaret Aldridge; great-grandmother, Ethel Drain; one sister, Teosha Peterson; four brothers, Edward, Demarris, Eric, and Devin Peterson; nieces, Tniya Acklen, Harmoni Lundy, Desanee Peterson, Devaya Harris, Dearionna, Dream, Alasia, and Evalina Peterson; nephews, Trevonte Sr., Trevonte Jr., Tru, Dequavion, and Elijah Peterson, Micheal and Jermiah Hines, and Victor Peterson; aunts, Davatte (Clayton) Morris, Tiffany Peterson, Janice and Sandra Hulett, Linda Napier, Valerie Hulett, Janice West, and Vanessa Eldrige; uncles, Rev Clayton Morris, Larry Wilson, David, Micheal, and Charles Peterson, James Hulett, Marreco Jamerson, and Darrin Cosby; cousins, Brandon Marshall, D’Angelo, Donald, Donnisha, D’chaka Holden, Tonisha, Tobitha, and Zayvion Peterson, Rakim Peterson Jr., and Willie Peterson III; and many other relatives and friends including special friends Tamela Franklin and Neek Wafer.
Demarcus was preceded in death by his father, Edward Hulett, his grandfathers, Emzi Hulett and Willie B. Peterson Jr., and his great-grandparents, Willie B. Peterson Sr., Mary Peterson, and Rosie Scott.
