Demetrius Reed

April 15, 1967 — October 20, 2021

Our beloved Father, Son, Brother and Uncle, Demetrius Reed, passed away on Wednesday October 20, 2021, at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born April 15, 1967 in Gary, Indiana to Mr. James J. Reed and Mrs. JoAnn Garth.

Demetrius attended Saginaw High and Eisenhower High Schools. He was a member of the swim and dive team and a wonderful drummer. He loved his cars and was an avid gun collector. He was a proud family man and he enjoyed holiday gatherings, BBQ’s and grilling, fishing, dressing nice and being the ultimate “Life of the Party.”

He leaves to cherish his life and memory his father, James (Toni) Reed, Diamondbar, California; grandmother, Pearlie Mae Walker, Merrillville, Indiana; children, Alexis (Brent) Givens, East Lansing, Michigan, Autumn Reed (Quaysean Odom), Saginaw, Michigan, Amber Reed, Southfield, Michigan, Hannah Klatt, Howard Lake, Minnesota, Ben Pries and Leon (Tahanee) Madison, Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Adrian, Kaiden, Brixley, Tahlea and Camille; siblings, Sharon and Marvin Reed, Saginaw, Michigan; James Reed, Jr., Los Angeles, California; Jason Reed, Seattle, Washington; aunts, Jeanette Terry, Merrillville, Indiana, Vernita (James) Brown, and Teresa (Steve) Tucker, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; uncles, Lendell (Pamela) Walker, Merrillville, Indiana, Ronald (Carlita) Walker, Minneapolis, Minnesota; nieces Tiarra, Shanna (Isaías), Asia (Jimmie), Jordan, Olivia, Londyn, and Jayda; nephews, Torry, Logan, Landon, Levi, Zion, Adrian, Kowa, Ethan and Elyjah; many cousins and friends, including special cousin, Julius Wren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Lee and JoAnn Garth; great- grandparents, Maude and Earl Calhoun; grandparents, Adell Walker and Angelo and Carrie Reed; aunts, Ella Wren, Irene Robinson, Sherry, Carol and Pamela Walker, uncles, Julius Wren, Curtis Robinson, Larry Walker and Johnny Lee Reed.

The family would like to express many thanks to New Covenant Christian Center, Bishop Ron and First Lady Georgette Frierson, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel, for your generosity and assistance with our loved one.

We love each and every one of you and cannot thank you all enough for your kind words, prayers, and messages, during this time.
