Mr. Dennis Lee Phillips went from labor to reward on Sunday, July 5, 2020. He was born January 2, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Emma Phillips and Ezra Henry.
Dennis resided in Saginaw, Michigan and was a member of Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1978. He then went on to serve in the United States Army for four years. Dennis returned from serving his country and became employed with Saginaw Transit as a bus driver, where he worked for 35 years before retirement.
His hobbies included spending time with family and friends, fishing, cooking, shopping and dressing. He was a comedian in his own way, and he loved to travel. Dennis would always end his conservations with I love you and so we end his story by saying, “WE LOVE YOU!”
Dennis was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Phillips; parents, Emma Phillips and Ezra Henry; brothers, Carl Phillips, Stanley Phillips, Milton Henry, Duane Henry; sisters, Deborah Phillips, Vicky Henry; aunt, Jean Phillips.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Brenda Phillips, Saginaw, Michigan; four children, Sandtenice (Anthony) Strong, Nefonzie (Lisa) Phillips, Holland, Michigan, Ayanna (Tabar) Walker, Markisha Goodman, Saginaw, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren, Ariona Watson, DeMarian Strong, DaLontae Strong, Jalen Strong, Cameron Phillips, Kharon Phillips, all of Holland, Michigan, Nefonzie Phillips,Jr., Ni’Aira Phillips, Victor Mims, Jehmi Walker, Tamarion Caldwell, Anthony Strong, Jr., Shania Strong, all of Saginaw, Michigan; three great-grandchildren, Randy, Raine Stapleton, Amara Miller, Saginaw, Michigan; brothers, Darrell Phillips, Tony Henry; special nieces, Ebony Rice, Crystal Henry; special nephews, Anthony Henry, Robert Pierson, Andre Pruitt; father and mother-in-law, Virgil and Margaret Walker; brother-in-law, Dorian Walker; many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Ava Flood, Alesia Archibald, Barbara Williamson, Richard Miller, Elijah (Sandra) Jones, Andre Jackson, Otha Barnett, Olivia Williams, Théodore (Endora) Johnson, Johnny (Cristi) Ray, Janice Strowder, Annette Campbell and the Diggs Family.
