Dequan Le'Ondrae Lee "Quan"

June 22, 2002 — March 7, 2023

DeQuan Le’Ondrae Lee was born on June 22, 2002, in Saginaw, Michigan, to TraVanda Thomas and the late Demont Lee, Sr. He gained his wings and transitioned from earth to his new home on March 7, 2023, at the age of 20 years.


DeQuan was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan, and a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, “Class of 2020” (the first class of Covid-19 quarantine). He also attended Carrollton Public Schools and was part of the football and basketball teams. Quan was a member of New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Alfred “AJ” Harris, Jr. He was employed at Michigan Sugar Company in Bay City, FED EX, and Meijer on Tittabawassee Road in Saginaw. Quan enjoyed playing basketball, video games, dancing (even though he did not have any rhythm at all), and hanging with his friends and cousins. Quan was always smiling and so full of life. He was a member of his church youth group, youth and mass choir. He was waiting to start a career as an OTR (over-the-road) truck driver with his cousin, Marquavis Smithers. Some of DeQuan’s favorite phrases were “Awl why you do me like dat?” “you feel me?” and “Ma, you got $20 on CashApp? I gotchu when I get my check.”


He leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother, TraVanda Thomas. He also leaves to cherish his memories his stepfathers, Wallace Ferguson, Sr., and Sherman Bell, Jr.; bonus mom, Anameshia Collins, grandparents, Mary Thomas, Diane Robertson, Barbara (Douglas) Williams, Adolph Patterson Jr., Jacqueline (Lorenzo) Jacocks, all of Saginaw; sister, Maranda Thomas; brothers, Da’Traivan Southward, Wallace Ferguson, Jr., Demont Lee, Jr. and DaMarion Lee; nieces, Carmen Ivy, De’Myah, and De’Moni Lee, nephews, Kamir Southward, Jo’Shawn Lee-Silas, De’Marion Lee, De’Mir Lee, Loyal Lee, and Kai’son Burton; he also leaves many aunts including special aunts, Shatara Thomas, Bertha Rodgers, Antoinette (Willie) Matthews, Barbara Washington, Sharon Mack, Michelle Bates, Tara Davis, Takeisha Gaylor, Quentila Howard, Carmina Lee, and Mi'Asia Buford; many uncles including special uncles, Vernshea “Jr” Harrison, Kenneth Smithers, Wilbur Mathews, Demarcus (Joy) Laury, Diontae Laury, James (Marcie) Cook, and John Lee Jr.; cousins, Da’Triana Thomas, Imari Thomas, Dominick Burton (a special cousin whom he was a father figure to), Da’Laiah Burton, Danielle Johnson, Terrance Lee, Syrina Johnson, Pele Peterson, Titus Bowman, Brianna Davis, Jessica Rodgers, and Chanda Thompson.


DeQuan had many other relatives and friends including special friends: Roy Stewart and Family, Brown Family, Southward and Favorite Family, Kewaun Davis, Darius Thomas, Clifton Jones, Hollowell family, DeAndre and DeAirra Allen and Family, New Mt Calvary Youth Department, Boyd Family, Harry Family, McKinney Family, Dale Miller, Brenda Ezell, Felexia Little, and Ra'Asya Douglas. 


DeQuan was preceded in death by his father, Demont Lee, Sr.; brother, Kortnei Lee; cousins, Marquavis Smithers, Steven Johnson, Isaiah Harper, India Mackey, and E’Mari Doss-Collins; grandparents, Tommy Thomas Sr., Leonard Mathews; great-grandparents, Rosie Washington, Robert Washington, John (Kathleen) Lee Sr., Willie Sue Laury; great-great-grandparents, Harper Cook, Willie Lee Cook; aunts, Lorene Farr, Kimberly Lee, uncles Willie J. Cook, Courtney Lee, David Thompson, and best friend/brother, Shaurome McKinney, Jr.
