Devin Jones (Lansing)

Devin JeVon Jones passed away Saturday, November 18. 2017. Age 19 years. He was born April 1, 1998, to the union of Don E. Jones Sr. and Jennifer Y. Jones.

Devin was very charismatic and had an outgoing spirit and a great love for his family. Whenever he walked into a room he was sure to greet you with a pinch to the cheeks, which he affectionately coined “juicing the cheeks”. Devin was a 2016 graduate from Waverly High School where he was a very active member in the Black Student Union as well as the Black Lives Matter student collective. He was currently employed at Chuck E. Cheese and Designer Shoe Warehouse; and was attending Lansing Community College where he was majoring in Marketing and Fashion Design. He was a creative soul and loved to sketch designs. Devin was an Entrepreneur and had begun launching his own Printing Company, where several of his graphic image designs had been accepted for production in San Francisco, California. He loved reading books on success and being a great man with purpose and a plan. Devin had the makings of an amazingly bright future.

From an early age, Devin had an immense passion for sports and received many awards and accolades from the Waverly Athletic Department and other sports teams around the Lansing community. He excelled in soccer and was remarkable on the field. Some of Devin’s many sports achievements include:

Devin had a love for all things fashion. He could always be seen in the most dapper menswear and set many fashion trends that were his very own.

Devin leaves to cherish his many memories his parents, Jennifer and Don Jones Sr. of Lansing Michigan; brothers, Don (DeShaunda) Jones Jr., of Lansing Michigan, Dinnerson Jones, I of Phoenix, Arizona, Deteaise Jones I, of Surprise, Arizona, Deyeya (Jordan) Jones, Destin Jones and Dennison Jones II, all of Lansing Michigan; Sisters, DeSonya Jones and Jennifer Jones II of Southfield, Michigan; two special sets of God-Parents, Jimmy and Stella Muse and Alfred and Sandra Rogers; God-Brothers, Marlo and Darius Burton, Alfred Rogers; God-Sister, Serena Rogers; 10 aunts, 2 uncles, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Devin is preceded in death by his sisters, Donnica Jones and Nielda Jones, two special aunts, Margo Perkins and Katrina Perkins.
