Mr. Devon Quinn “Von J” Johnson passed on Sunday, July 28, 2019 in Lansing, Michigan. Age 22 years old. He was born February 26, 1997 in Lansing, Michigan. Devon was the oldest of 4 children born to Meneriva Smith and Daryl Johnson II.

Devon was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. He attended Lansing Public Schools and was employed by Artic Glacier in Lansing Michigan. Devon was known to his friends as “Von J” and will always be remembered for his amazing spirit and sense of humor. He was a beacon of light to us all and could make light out of any situation. Devon loved playing basketball, fishing, making music and eating his Aunt Odessa’s banana pudding. He was so excited to become a new father. Devon loved his family more than anything.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Kingdom Quinn Johnson; the love of his life and mother of his son, Mariyah Moore; mother, Meneriva (Freddie) Smith; father, Daryl Johnson II; two sisters, Damara and De’asia Johnson; three brothers, Daryl Johnson III, Daeion Johnson and Dacori Simmons; grandparents, Patricia Simmons, Debra (Lee) Warren and Daryl (Nadine) Johnson I, Jacksonville, Florida; aunts, Jewelle Simmons, Tonya "TT" (Ramondi) McGary, Danielle (Stephen) Day, Jacksonville, Florida and Shanoi (Ladale) Jackson; uncles, Richard Simmons II, Jamari (Tiffany) Warren, Richard (Shirley) Owen, Atlanta, Georgia and Justin Simmons, Detroit, Michigan; special niece, Dezire Johnson; special cousins, Marcel Carter, Christopher Ethridge, Jamarcus McGary, Myahna Simmons and LaDalle Jackson; god-mom, Trina Hobbs; god-sister, Catrina Wiley; other relatives and friends including best friends, Eliejuawan Black, Monesha Lyle and LaToya Jones.
