Dolores Lopez (Lansing)

Mrs. Dolores Lopez passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at University of Michigan Health - Sparrow in Lansing, Michigan. Age 81 years. She was born Thursday, October 29, 1942, the daughter of Jose Francisco and Carmen Rodriguez in the Dominican Republic.

Dolores resided in Lansing, Michigan after having lived and worked in Manhattan, New York for 54 years. She attended Dyckman Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church in New York for 20 years where she served as a Deaconess and taught Bible Study. Dolores was a technical college executive assistant in the Department of Electronic College in the Dominican Republic. She spent 45 years as a foreman at Quality Braid Corporation in Queens, New York. Dolores loved to read, shopping, watching the news and current affairs. A few things her family shared about Dolores, “she is someone really special. She was truly a loving and sweet person who brought so much positivity into the lives of those around her. Her trustworthiness was unmatched; you could always count on her to keep her word and stand by you no matter what. Honesty was one of her defining traits; she always spoke her mind and did so with kindness and respect for others. I also admired her punctuality. She valued time and made sure to respect everyone else’s by being on time for everything. Lastly, her loyalty was incredible. Whether it was in relationships or friendships. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly and was always there to support her loved ones."

Dolores leaves to cherish her loving memories, her daughter, Francia (Rafael) Paulino; two sons, Adrian (Ericka) Lopez and Peter Lopez; two stepdaughters, Auragilda Lopez and Ana Aurora Vasquez; grandchildren, Justin (Alexandra Quinones) Paulino, Noelia (Vicente) Vasquez, Debora Paulino, Andrew Paulino, Marceio Lopez, Diego Lopez, and Angelo Lopez; great grandchildren, Justin Paulino, Jr. “Chucho”, Analiyan Lopez, and Novin Vasquez; 10 Lopez nieces, four Franciso nieces, 14 Lopez nephews, and four Francisco nephews; four sisters-in-law, Yanet Francisco, Siria Lopez, Norma Rodriquez, and Carmen Zomosa; four brothers-in-law, Luiz Rodriquez, Oscar Monegro, Julio Pion, and Vijilio Medrano; many other relatives including Spirital Children Deyanira Ortiz, Maria Santa, Lisa Doutherd, and Pablo Almonte and friends including good friends, Rafaela Torres, Hilda, Elena Echavaria, and Marcedes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Lopez; her parents, grandparents, Pedro Tomas Rodriquez and Conchita Percia; sister, Ana Milagros Papia; two brothers, Ramon Santiago Francisco and Sergio Francisco; four sisters-in-law, Noelia Monegro, Charo Pioñ, Gicela Lora, and Nelda Medrano; and three brothers-in-law, Rafael Lora, Esmeldi Lopez, and Andre Zomosu.
