Mr. Donald Leon Atkins passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Avista Nursing Home and Rehab at age 52 years. He was born March 5, 1967 in Wetumpka, Alabama to Isom Atkins Jr. and Barbara Atkins-Whitney.
Donald was a graduate of Saginaw High School, “Class of 1987.” His hobbies included fishing, gardening, and working on cars. He was outgoing and the life of the party. He was loved by everyone. He played a major role in his community, and anyone who was in need of anything, he didn’t mind helping out.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Isom Atkins, Jr.; mother, Barbara Atkins-Whitney; grandmothers, Willie Mae Sears and Lizzie Jeffery.
He leaves to cherish his memory four sisters, Karen Atkins, Sandra Atkins, Cathy Graves, Sarah Bracey; two brothers, Pastor Chet (Elizabeth) Atkins, Isom Atkins III; nieces, Nitisha, Tanshonda, Brittney, Lacretia, Ellen, Tamela, Chasity, Zar’Ria, Anaiah; nephews, Derrick, Eric, Mickevious, Marcus, Lamar, Johnathan, Chance, De’Ante, Justice; sixteen great-nieces and nephews; five aunts; many other relatives and friends.
