Donald R. Hollis passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Covenant Healthcare- Cooper. Age 58 years. He was born June 22, 1953 in Donaldsonville, Georgia to Pate and Gradie Hollis.
Donald received Christ at an early age. He was baptized at South 17th Street Church of God in Christ. Donald was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a talented artist who loved to draw. Donald was a laborer, having been employed by C and O Railroad, Vlassic Pickle and Pilot in Dexter, Michigan. He loved to cook and spend time with his family and friends. Donald had a good heart and a great sense of humor.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Earlean Hollis; one daughter, Leslie (Shannon) Brandon-Osteen; three sons, Anthony Turner, Iowa, Brian Brandon, Bernard May, Kalamazoo, Michigan; many grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Delvon Brandon, Andrew Hall, LanShania and Shannon Cope; four sisters, Nora Hollis, Barbara Lawson, Deborah Hollis all of Saginaw, Michigan, Elaine Hollis, Los Angeles, California; two brothers, Robert (Mary) McCray, Pate Hollis Jr.; two aunts, Rose (Junior) Griggs, West Palm Beach, Florida, Buelah Robinson, Riverside, California; many other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends including special friends, Milton Grays, Rex Laury, Cleveland Comer, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Clarence Young and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gradie and Pate Hollis Sr.; two sisters, Dora Owens, Janice Hollis; two brothers, Jerry McCray, Jimmy Hollis; one grandson, Reginald Filmore.
