Donna Smith

Donna Jean Smith Tina passed away June 1, 2015 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She was born September 4, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan to Mary Alice (Harper) Smith and Paul Smith.
Donna accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended Vassar Public Schools and was a 1970 graduate of Vassar High School. She received an associate degree from Delta College. Tina, as she was affectionately known, was a retiree of Delphi and was a member of UAW Local 699. She loved family gatherings, movies and collecting lighthouses. One of her favorite pastimes was shopping, especially on QVC Network.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Alina Smith; granddaughter, Ayla Gardenhire; three sisters, Mattie Louise Thompson, Susan Rosalyn (Haneef) Rushdan, Rosemary Gibson; two brothers, Michael Smith (Bobbie Jo Stierheim) and Joseph Smith; many nieces, nephews and cousins; two aunts, Jean Cheatham and Wealthy Howard; sister-in-law, Lynn Smith; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Christina Bables-Cobbs, Willie DeBardelaben Jr., Cynthia Genwright, Trudy Hurley, Mark Collis, Delois Falls and Ben MacArthur.
Donna Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Alice (Harper) Smith and Paul Smith, three brothers, Larry, Theodore and James Smith, sister, JoAnn Murphy and a brother-in-law, Willie E. Thompson.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Henry Ford Hospital Surgical ICU and to Ivan E. Phillips and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
