Deacon Don’ta Lamar Farris was born April 15,1988 in Miami, Florida, the son of Annie Louise Farris and Donovan L. Woods. Don’ta passed away at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan on October 28, 2020 at the age of 32 years.
Don’ta gave his life to Christ at a young age. While a member at Faith Charity Pentecostal Gospel Church, he became an ordained Deacon. He graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class of 2007”. He also attended Delta College majoring in Criminal Justice.
Don’ta loved hanging with family, talking on the phone, playing video games, and listening to his favorite music. He loved Gospel and Chopped and Screwed music. He enjoyed writing and collecting photo buttons. Don’ta’s favorite shows consisted of Blue Bloods and Chicago PD. It was nothing like Don’ta smiling, lighting up the room with his grill and busting a move on the dance floor! His motto was T.N.O. “Trust No One”! He was a very generous, loving and sweet person. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. He will always be remembered and forever loved.
Don’ta was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Louise Farris and Donavon Woods; grandparents, Ruthie Lee and Arthur Lee Farris; uncles, Arthur Lee Farris, Jr. and Robert Lee Farris; aunts, Pearletha Farris and Ruthie B. Williams; cousins, Marvin Farris, Keith Burns, Martrell Farris and Terionna Farris; special friend, Terry Daniels.
He leaves to cherish his memory four brothers, Remus L. Woods, Indianapolis, Indiana, Donavon L. Brittain, Lansing, Michigan, Darius Brittain, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and his baby brother whom he loved dearly and shared a very special bond with, DeQ’uavis Farris, Saginaw, Michigan; sisters, Tamika Kemp, Detroit, Michigan, Donesha Moore, Indianapolis, Indiana; two nephews, DeQ’uavis B. Farris, Ney, Ohio, Gavin W. Farris, Saginaw, Michigan; aunts, Mary Carter and Ivory McIntire of St. Louis, Missouri, Shirley Doss, Defiance, Ohio, Missionary Orita (Elder Roy) McCulloh, Joyce Farris, Valerie Woods, Renee A. Morris, Ineka Nelson, all of Saginaw, Michigan, and Harriett Hudson of Phoenix, Arizona; many cousins, other relatives and friends including special cousins Felicia, Telicia and Ashley Farris.
