Dontaye L. Hatter

Mr. Dontaye Lavelle Hatter passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 41 years. He was born January 17, 1973 in Saginaw, Michigan to Althea Hatter and Warren Austin.
Dontaye was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He attended school in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dontaye was employed at Nexteer Automotive. He loved comedies. His favorite comedy was the movie Life and his favorite comedian was Richard Pryor. Dontaye loved music. He enjoyed laughing and making others laugh. Dontaye loved his children, family and friends. He was a kind-hearted person who never met a stranger. Dontayes presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his fianc, Margo Buck; his children, Dontaye McKenzie, Essence Lee, Onyea Elliott, JaQwan Shelton, Tayeaunna Hatter, Karyah Elliott and Javontae Donald; one stepchild, Demeyia Humes; one grandchild, Sapphira Walker-Lee; his parents, Althea Hatter and Warren Austin; stepfather, Robert E. Davis; a mentor who was like a father, Albert Murphy; grandmothers, Mary L. Grant and Annie Austin; two sisters, Kendra Annette Hatter and Monyette LaShawn Hatter; two godsisters, Rachel Simpson and Karen Robinson; four nieces, Savannah, Keohnae, Jayla and Rontavia Hatter, five nephews, Robert Hatter-Hill, Jalon Tarver, Treohntae Hatter, Ryan and Rondarius Carethers; four aunts, Brenda Hatter, Carol A. Grant, Diane Bulley and Ella Gill; seven uncles, Lee, Larry, Leslie, Travis and Trenton Grant, Joseph Bowens and Clint Austin; many cousins including special cousins, Steve Hatter, Terrell Owens and Willie James Black; many other relatives and friends.
Dontaye was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Ben and Ida Hatter, three aunts, Dorothy Neal, Marie Chapman, Rita Harris and Ernestine Owens, uncles, Charles, Ernest and Fred Hatter, one cousin, Jimmy McCray and other family members including, Randell Harris, Olin Hardy and De'Anthony Harris.
