Mr. Donyea Antoine Johnson Sr. Yea passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Age 35 years. He was born March 25, 1978 in Saginaw, Michigan to the union of Frank S. Johnson III and Hildra M. Hale Johnson.
He was affectionately named by his brother, Daymond. Donyea received Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Bethel A.M.E. He graduated from Bridgeport High School. Donyea also attended Delta College. He invested in real estate with the ultimate goal to help his community. Donyea mentored and coached young black males exiting the prison system. Donyea loved spending time with his family. His son, Donyea Antoine Johnson Jr. Little Yea was his pride and joy. Donyea loved music, family, friends and Cadillac cars. He was an avid sports fan and he always wore his favorite sports memorabilia. Donyea was quiet to some and a deep-thinker to others. He marched to the beat of his own drum. Donyea was loyal, caring, generous and compassionate. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Donyea leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Frank S. Johnson III and Hildra M. Hale Johnson of Lakeside, California; his son, Donyea Antoine Johnson Jr.; Latanya Mitchell, who has been special part of his life and will forever be a part of their sons future; his grandmother, Daisy Baber of Daytona Beach, Florida; godparents, Leonard and Zoe Bennett; Donyea will be profoundly missed by his beloved brothers, Daymond (Laura) Johnson of Los Angeles California, Devon Johnson of Saginaw Michigan and Troy (Charlene) Johnson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; he will be deeply missed by his three sisters, Terri (Wendell) Prude of San Diego, California, Deborah, and Ronda Johnson both of Atlanta Georgia; nine nephews, Donaven, Brandon, Bryce, Brady, Corielle Johnson, Bryant Brown, Harvey Johnson, Deontay Presley, Tede Johnson; six nieces who will miss his protective nature, BreLynn Johnson Deangela Brown, Latoya Ruffin, Amanda McClendon, Janai McClendon and Leah Johnson; aunts include a special aunt, Gloria Hale of Battle Creek, Michigan, Estrella Young of Daytona Beach, Florida, Mary Knight and Mattie Jernigan both of Saginaw, Michigan, Ruth Burns; Donyea has three loving uncles, Gilbert (Jean) Hale Sr. of Chicago, Illinois, Richard Hale of San Diego, California and Tyrone Johnson of Saginaw, Michigan; Amanda (Wade) Cashaw lovingly called his other mom also grieve his loss. Cousins Popes Hales, Stitts and many others will greatly miss him. His friends are numerous, however, Theo, Cat and Bill Burton were friends too closely entwined to be call anything other than family. His special friends who will forever cherish fond memories of him, Dedrick Boles, Theo Hunt, Steven Ford, Ricky Garza, Tremaine Brooks, Marcus Myles, Garland Davis, Hiakiem and Eddie Hunt, Michael Johnson, Keddrick and Marquise Ragland, Dewhon Lyles, Justin Hughes, Zac, Tamarris Stewart, Tellis Sears, Anthony Sangster and Jason Hubbert.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Nathan (Flarie) Hale Sr., aunts, Vivian Hale and Katherine Hale, uncles, Nathan Hale Jr., grandfather, Frank S. Johnson II Bingo Jack, Imelda Johnson, great-grandmother, Claudine Wicks, two special friends, Billy Burton and Alvin Lee.
