Mother Doris Jones Aimery peacefully passed away, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, leaving a legacy of love, faith, and compassion that will forever illuminate our hearts. She was a beacon of light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was born on Sunday, April 24, 1938, in the quiet town of Barnesville, Georgia, the daughter of Antiney and Bessie Jones. Doris embarked on a remarkable journey, through life that touched hearts and souls in immeasurable ways.
At the tender age of 11, Doris moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she would come of age, graduating from East High School in 1956. Her thirst for knowledge and her unwavering commitment to her faith led her to Aenon Bible College at the age of 22, where she nurtured her spiritual gifts and dedication to the service of the Lord. Doris was not only a woman of faith and dedication, but she was also a remarkable prayer warrior and intercessor. Her profound connection with God was demonstrated through her heartfelt prayers, which she fervently offered on behalf of those in need. She had the unique ability to stand in the gap for others, interceding with a heart full of compassion and a spirit that radiated love. Doris's life was a living testament to the power of prayer. She understood that prayer could heal, comfort, and uplift, and she used this extraordinary gift to bring solace and hope to countless lives. Her selflessness in lifting others in prayer was a reflection of her deep and abiding love for God and her unwavering commitment to serving those around her. Doris was not just a woman of God; she was a living testament to his love. She attended and was the First Lady of Apostolic Pentecostal Church for a period of time. She also attended Life Christian Church, Christ Temple, Greater Bible Way, and The Church of Christ, where she found solace, inspiration, and a community that shared her unwavering devotion to the Lord. Her faith was not just a personal journey but a gift she shared with those around her.
On December 11, 1965, Doris married Sylvester Lee Aimery, and together they embarked on a beautiful journey of love and devotion. From this union, they were blessed with five children, who were the very heart of her existence. Michael, Steve, Sylvia, Mark, and Christopher were not just her children but the living embodiment of her love and legacy.
Doris poured her heart into and enjoyed creating beautiful flower arrangements for all occasions. Her love for flowers was a reflection of her vibrant spirit and her ability to bring beauty into the lives of others. She was not only a mother but a teacher, guiding young hearts in Sunday School at Christ Temple. Her patience, kindness, and love for children were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of learning from her. Doris cherished the simple joys in life – spending time with her family and going to church to serve the Lord. Her presence was a blessing that extended to all she encountered.

Doris Jones Aimery is survived by her beautiful children, Michael (Etta), Steve (Cassandra), Sylvia, Mark, and Christopher (Indea), as well as her bonus children, Karen (Cristina) and Jeffrey Brooks. Her legacy continues in her cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Michael Jr., Kyneisha, Jazmynne, Stephen Jr., Jayde, Jael, Josiah, Zavier, Austin, Khristina, Kayla, Raymond, Alicia, Michael, Christopher Jr., Shamika, and Jeffrey Jr.; many great grandchildren; loving brother, Benjamin Jones and sister, Barbara Easley, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Antiney Jones; sister, Ruth Owens, and brothers, Milton Jones and Freddie Jones.
