Doris D. Lewis (Lansing)

Ms. Doris D. Lewis passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 57 years. She was born on Monday, June 19, 1967, in Gallion, Alabama to Frank and Annie Houston.

Doris grew up in Lansing, Michigan with her parents and siblings. She attended West Junior High School and J. W. Sexton in the Lansing School District. She was a devoted caregiver and a great cook. She was a loving and caring mother to her two sons.

 Doris leaves to cherish here memories, two sons, Willie Lewis and Davin Lewis of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Amayah Lewis of Dallas Texas, Dae’yonah, Trinity, Kaylyn, and Willie Lewis, Jr. all of Lansing, Michigan; father, Frank Houston; brother, Frank Houston, Jr.; sisters, Sandra Houston, Lakesha Ewulomi, and Shirley Geter all of Lansing, Michigan; aunts, Lucy Williams, Affie Lee (Joe L) Parker, Paralee Balanta, and Eliza A. Houston of Lansing, Michigan; uncles, Richard Houston, Jr. and Jerome Houston, Sr.; very special cousin, Ricky Houston of Lansing, Michigan, many nephews, nieces, other cousins, relatives and friends, including special friend, Anita Oglesby of Tuskegee, Alabama, who all loved her dearly. Doris also leaves behind her companion and beloved dog, Sparkle.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Houston; grandson, William Lewis; and sister, Lula Lewis-Blocker.
