Dorothy Ann Kelly Anderson

Ms. Dorothy Ann “Dot” Kelly Anderson departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the age of 69 years. She was born September 29, 1952 in Bay City, Michigan to Alfred and Mildred (Dallas) Kelly.

She was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. After attending and graduating high school, she obtained her Associate Degree from Delta College. Dorothy loved antiques, shopping, and restoration of antiques. She was also skilled in the art of interior design. Dorothy was employed in retail sales over twenty years. She never met a customer that was a stranger; she embraced them as family and friend. Dorothy attended Ministry Without Walls of Saginaw under the leadership of Pastors John and Wilma Dunn. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory three daughters and two sons, Kacinea Merrill, Sabrina Merrill, Stephanie Burton, Robert Merrill and Stephon Burton; a host of grandchildren and great- grandchildren; her mother, Mildred Burton, and only brother, Alfred II (Beverly) Kelly; three nieces, Lashawyna (Joseph) Grace, Kibwana Cooper, and Miekesha Henry; two nephews, Alfred Kelly, III and Alan Parks; one aunt, Orvetta (Wilbur) Watts; a very special cousin who was like a brother, Willalandas “Willie” (Patricia) Suber, Jr., Gloria Watts, Dorothy Walker, Marva Dallas and Charles Dallas; special friends, Priscilla Oates and Hazel McMullen.

Dorothy was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Merrill, one daughter, Ranisha Merrill, her father, Alfred Kelly, paternal grandparents, Joseph and Dorthula White, maternal grandparents, James and Anna Dallas, and the father of her children, Bobby Merrill.

A heartfelt thank you to Todd Boone, Dakima Bridges, Anaya Burton, Jasmine Brown, Compasus-Saginaw Hospice caregivers, Cassie Kwaiser, Chaplain Kelly Iseman, Brenda Bohnow, Jody Radon, Sarah Schiefer, Karen Mollohan, and Adreana Robinson.
