Dorothy Everett

January 14, 1941 — November 1, 2019

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went from labor to reward on Friday, November 1, 2019. She was born January 14, 1941 in Woodville, Mississippi to Elmo and Arnedia Wettlin. We are grateful for this gift we were blessed with for 78 years.

At the tender age of 11, Dorothy journeyed to Saginaw, Michigan with her family. She was united in marriage to George Everett, who predeceased her in 1978. Mrs. Everett was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church for many years until her health declined.

A wonderful homemaker, Dorothy loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her soaps, football and NCIS. She was known as “tear eye”, which helped her get what she wanted. She was a woman of love, faith and hope and has left a lasting legacy for us all.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, George Everett; son, Alonzo Choyce, Jr.; parents, Elmo and Arnedia Wettlin; brother, Lawrence and David Wettlin; grandparents, Lawrence and Louella Williams; very special son-in-law, Willie Jackson.

She leaves precious memories with her children, Jennifer Jackson, Yolanda (Jerry) Thompson, Reginald (Gail) Choyce, all of Saginaw, Michigan; stepchildren, Marion Sanders, John Choyce; grandchildren, Reginald, Sherry Pratt, William Jackson, Myiesha Wilson, ElleCeia Choyce, Ashley Andderson, Idris Everett; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Gladys Craion, Saginaw, Michigan; nieces, Karen (Randy) Parlor, Lansing, Michigan, Sheree Logan, Saginaw, Michigan, Adrian Jumper, Atlanta, Georgia, Wendy Wettlin, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Joisette Hilliard, Benton Harbor, Michigan; nephews, Neville Wettlin, Antioch, Tennessee, Roderick Wettlin, Phoenix, Arizona; aunt, Ethelena Walker; uncle, Roosevelt Williams; sister-in-law, Jon (Evelyn) Wettlin; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Verna B. Salmond, Bobby Braggs.

The family would like to express special thanks to the CNAs at Select Specialty Hospital, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
